Eagle Point Scouts in a Cave at Lava Beds National Monument April was a month with many exciting events. Our troop had a nutritionist as a guest speaker. This will help scouts plan healthier meals for camping trips. We held a Court of Honor, where many merit badges and ranks were awarded. Congratulations to our scouts and all their hard work. The last event our troop held was the April campout at Lava beds National Monument. This fun camping trip involved hiking through caves.

March was a very busy month for our troop. We participated in the district-wide merit badge workshop. After merit badge workshop we went on a very windy hike around Applegate Lake. Also, this month half our troop did a 15 mile backpacking trip, while the other half stayed back at base camp and worked on rank advancement. Lastly, REI hosted our troop and put on a backpacking seminar for us. April is going to be another fun month of scouting. Scouts ready for a backpacking trip at Applegate Lake in Southern Oregon

Our theme for January was wilderness survival. We learned what was and wasn’t important to survive in the forest. We also had our overnight game night where we stayed up all night playing games. Our troop held a recruitment night, with fun stations such as fire making. Next month, we have some fun events planned such SnowCapades. Here’s a picture from the last SnowCapades. December was a fun month for our troop. We worked on merit badges, such as fingerprinting, citizenship in the nation and personal management. We had Pack 40 come visit our troop and join us for our annual Christmas party. On January 2nd we will be driving around Eagle Point picking up Christmas trees for a donation. If you would like us to pick up you tree please let us know.

November Update

Posted on Dec 2 2021 - 5:37pm
Although the month of November had less meetings than normal we were able to get a lot of fun meetings in. The newer scouts worked on their first aid requirements while the older scouts worked on the Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge. As a troop we participated in the Eagle Point Veterans Day parade and a few of us were selected to carry flags that have graced the coffins of men who served in our military. We also held our firewood fundraiser this month. Come check out our troop to see what fun things we will be doing in December. Scouts Participating in the Eagle Point Veteran's Day Celebration
